Project Management

V-Tracker allows you to add clients and create projects just like adding folders in a windows-based operative system. You can also decide which people are managing which projects and set up email notification rules.

Document Management

Each project contains a number of documents in progress. Here you can track every single version of all documents. You can see who uploaded it and when. Also, each version can be commented, both by you and your clients and every comment can be completed by a file attachment if needed. This file attachment could, for example, consist of a pdf file with comments added to the original document using Acrobat's note tool.

Effectively, each version of a document becomes a forum and whenever a comment is being made or a new version is uploaded an automatic email notification is sent out to all involved users. The email contains a summary of the action and a link that takes the user straight into the right area of the system.

Once the client is happy with the artwork he/she can approve it and sign it off electronically.

User Management

V-Tracker allows you to create and delete users freely (both client users and users within your organisation). Each user can be assigned a number of permissions and access levels. You can also decide which projects a user has access to and whether he/she is in the email loop.

Security

W3Logic take security very seriously. We understand that the files that are uploaded to the system may be of a confidential nature. To ensure protection of the data, we employ the following security measures: encryption
  • Password submissions, file uploads and file downloads are all done over SSL.
  • Uploaded files are stored in a fileserver directory that is not directly accessible from the Internet.
  • The uploaded files are saved in encrypted format using the base Microsoft Cryptographic Service Provider, which allows for a 40-bit key. Therefore, should our server get hacked - or even stolen - the uploaded artwork files are safe.
  • Application user's passwords in the database are encrypted using using the MD5 algorithm. The algorithm is a one-way hash-there is no conversion from the hash result back to the source string.
  • Our hosting partner Active ISP's Data Centre is protected from physical and elemental hazards, such as intrusion and fire, by a wide range of security installations.
  • Uptimes are reinforced via a redundancy "back-up" battery supply, provided by UPS, and diesel generators, which take over in the event of a power outage.
  • Our production servers are constantly monitored on a 24/7 basis.

Hosting

Many of our customers are using V-Tracker as an application service where we are resonsible for hosting, maintenance etc. Our servers are hosted with our hosting partner Active ISP.

Our Hosting Partner

Active ISP is the leading pan-European provider of Internet-related services, such as web hosting, domain name registration, e-commerce and database solutions. Active ISP ASA was founded in May 1998 and is headquartered in Oslo, Norway. With over 60,000 websites hosted and 270,000 domain names registered, Active ISP puts special focus on the development of standardized solutions with a high degree of user-friendliness and scalability.

System

The latest in server technology from Microsoft makes up the core of the Active ISP system. Software components being used include Windows 2000, Active Directory, Microsoft Cluster, Microsoft Network Load Balancing, IIS 5.0, SQL server 2000 and Exchange 2000.

Servers

Active ISP uses servers from IBM and Dell. Based on Intel processors, these are designed with a focus on an extremely high degree of "fail tolerance" in all vital component areas.

Network

"Full redundancy" is an important keyword in any description of Active ISP''s network. All network equipment being used is manufactured by Cisco Systems, a company reputed for being a leader in the development of technology based on maximized and efficient use of redundancy. In the event there is an error somewhere in the network, traffic is automatically re-routed so that customers are not affected by the error.

Access Providers

Active ISP utilises multiple access providers in order to ensure a high degree of uptime and operational security. In the event one of our access providers experiences technical problems, we automatically route traffic to another service provider. This is done to ensure that our customers will not be affected by potential errors that might occur in either our own network or those of our various service providers.

Transfer Capacity

All Internet lines to / from Active ISP feature flexibility. This means that line capacity will automatically be increased as traffic on the lines increases.

In other words, our customers never notice whether the transfer load on our lines is at a high or low level since performance is maintained at the same high level.

Security

All production servers feature firewall protection in order to achieve a high level of security for both Active ISP's internal systems and customer-owned data.
